Postpartum Counselling and Support for New Parents

Becoming a parent is one of life’s biggest transitions. Alongside joy and love, it can bring anxiety, overwhelm, or even trauma. I offer counselling for mothers, birthing parents, dads, and non-birthing parents across York and online throughout the UK.

Common struggles new parents face

• Postpartum anxiety, OCD, or depression

• Guilt, resentment, rage, or fear

• Traumatic birth experiences

• Pregnancy complications or sickness

• Wondering, 'who am I now?'

• Parenting a baby with additional needs

• The pressure to “get on with it” or dismiss struggles as “just the baby blues”

These challenges affect more than just birthing parents. Many dads and partners experience:

I offer online or telephone counselling sessions, so support is flexible. You can connect during nap times, feeds, or even while out walking with your pram.

I am dedicated to providing accessible mental health support to new parents at a time when money is tight, so I charge £40 an hour for up to 6 sessions for those with babies under 1 year old.
